About Dr. Afsaneh Haghdoust

Dr. Afsaneh Haghdoust-Ardebili is a licensed and trained pharmacist working in a community setting at Peak Pharmacy in Livonia, Michigan where she is the head Pharmacist. In this professional practice, she oversees the care of traumatic brain injury and psychiatric patients in both the retail and mail-order setting. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Wayne State University in 2010.

Prior to her current role, Afsaneh had extensive pharmacy experience working within the Nutritional Support team at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan where she analyzed blood chemistry and chose the best approach to medication therapy alongside the physicians there. She also worked at Harper Hutzel Hospital in Detroit, Michigan educating patients on the effects of warfarin and measuring INR, and then adjusting the doses respectively. In the Internal Medicine Division at Harper Hospital, Afsaneh counseled patients using the IHS technique, helped patients improve their medication therapy and overall quality of life, determined antibiotic dosing and gave multiple presentations on disease states and medications.

In addition to her professional experience, Afsaneh has been recognized for various academic achievements throughout her career. Notably, her directed study in Medicinal Chemistry with Dr. Hirata focused on the Mechanism of ER-Negative Breast Cancer in the BRCA1-Mutation and her recognition for her performance at Wayne State University are among her highest honors.

This is evidenced by her extensive volunteer history in and out of the professional setting. In her current position, Afsaneh takes an active role in doing her best to improve the quality of life for her patients, and this is an important reason why many new patients come to Peak Pharmacy every day. The personalized care and attention she gives is characteristic to the culture that she has been so instrumental in building at Peak.
